Why not go along to Fortrose Theatre at Fortrose Academy to join the Climate Question Time on Thursday 10th Novemeber
Organised by Transition Black Isle

Climate Question Time

Floods, farming, food, energy, transport, business, nature - climate change isn’t just for world leaders to deal with - its impacts are already beginning to bite in the Highlands.

As politicians meet in Copenhagen to thrash out an international deal to curb man-made global warming, the spotlight will turn on the Black Isle. Here communities face challenges ranging from rising sea levels to food security issues and fuel poverty.

You are invited to explore these issues and their implications at a unique Climate Change Question Time in Fortrose Theatre on Thursday 10 December at 7:30pm.

Chaired by TV journalist Louise Batchelor, this Transition Black Isle event will feature questions from audience members from all walks of life and organisations. Local young people will also put questions from Fortrose Academy.

The final line up for the panel will include Inverness businessman David Sutherland, Green Party candidate Eleanor Scott and a director from NFU Scotland.  We are currently seeking questions from both individuals and on behalf of local organisations to be asked on the night and would greatly appreciate your input.

Questions should be submitted by 5pm on 2 December 2009 by e-mail to: questions@transitionblackisle.org or in writing to:  Wendy Price, Pollbreac, North Kessock, Inverness IV13XQ.

Please include your full name, telephone number, where you are from, if you represent any particular organisation and your position within it and - if you want - your age. Please note we may not have time for all the suggestions but will let you know the day before if your question has been shortlisted.

The panel event will be followed by an opportunity for informal discussion over refreshments.

This event has been made possible with the generous assistance of the Highland Council, Fortrose Academy  and the Climate Challenge Fund.  CLH Solar have also sponsored us.

We look forward to receiving your questions and to seeing you there on the night.
